Patteda anchu saree is a handloom saree made from pure cotton fabric, Itās a 10th century-old saree weaving tradition started in North Karnataka. Patteda anchu saree is made from a soft cotton material that is eco-friendly dyed. These sarees are best suitable for daily wear & casual wear. Fabric : Cotton 40s Count both in warp & weft. It is little coarse yet breathable.
Weave : Hand-loom (Pit Loom).
Length : Saree length is 6.00 metre
NOTE :
1. Color may vary slightly due to photography.
2. Due to hand-loom weave, there will be knots and some weave mistakes.
3. We recommend to wash the saree in lukewarm water with rock salt for 10-15 minutes, before draping as of its dye colour. The water will turn black as of charak, which don’t mean the colour of the saree will fade away.
WASH-CARE :
First time we prefer dry wash/dry clean only.
Second time normal hand-wash.
This saree is named after its border and checks pattern but is also known as dundina seere, devaru seere or laxmi seere or pooja seere. Made in cotton, it was specifically designed for women working in farms, being only 38ā wide and 6 yards in a coarse 20ās count. The saree has specific colour palette including mustard, maroon,Ā pink and green. As the saree is offered to goddess Yellamma Saundatti, the local diety of Gajendragarh village, the colour black is not used. Patteda anchu wedding saris are normally woven in shades of red checks with broad mustard border and is considered very auspicious.
